Sessions

Session on  Bacteriology

Prokaryotes are classified into two categories namely Archea and Bacteria. The difference between two is peptidoglycan layer and N-formyl methionine. The study of domain bacteria is known as Bacteriology. Bacteria which is not visible to the naked eye is found everywhere in the environment. Bacteriology includes bacteria classification, parasitology, epidemiology, infections caused by bacteria, exotoxins of gram-positive bacteria, endotoxins of gram-negative bacteria, genetics and ecology of bacteria. Over past decades Bacteriology research has advanced rapidly.

Session on: Emerging infectious diseases

Occupational epidemiology plays an important role in the occurrence of diseases. Some Bacterial Infections caused by LeptospiraBorellia burgdorferi, Streptococcal species are contagious. Bacterial pathogenesis deals with host-pathogen interactions which are of great use in finding a cure for many diseases.

The new emerging diseases include sexually transmitted diseases(HIV/AIDS), hospital-acquired bacterial infection(urinary tract infection, methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus), multiple-drug-resistant bacteria, zoonosis(a disease which comes to human from animals), Lyme........

Session on Epigenomics of Infectious diseases

Epigenetic events like DNA methylation and histone modification affects the gene expression. The pathogenic bacteria disrupt this epigenetic event. Study of epigenetic alterations helps to know about incubation period, incidence, prevalence, attack rate, sporadic, infestation, transmission probability ratio. Based on the study the disease can be categorized into the epidemic, endemic.

Session on Bacterial Biochemistry

It comprises biochemical reactions in bacteria growth, its emphasis on bacterial cell structure, the interaction of biological macromolecules like carbohydrates, lipids, nucleic acids and about the catabolite repression, proximal control elements, attenuation.

Bacteria which is ubiquitous in nature is found in soil, water, air etc. It has a nucleoid and peptidoglycan layer which is composed of N-acetylmuramic acid and N-acetylglucosamine. Based on the thickness of peptidoglycan layer the bacteria have been characterized into gram-positive which consists of lipopolysaccharide and gram-negative which consists of teichoic acids. Study of bacterial biochemistry made advances in biotechnology industries. This laid down for the invention of new drugs for infectious diseases caused by bacteria.

Session on Clinical Bacteriology

The main aim of clinical bacteriology is to diagnose the disease by using specimens. These specimens may be urine, feces, body fluids, tissue etc. Manual testing is done by using this specimen to find out the infectious disease.

The infectious diseases were mainly caused by the bacteria like s.pneumoniah.pylori, t.palladium, l.borreliosisMedical bacteriology concerns of detection, prevention of infectious disease and to study the characteristic of the pathogen

The global Clinical Bacteriology market is valued at $6,727.29 million in 2014 and is expected to grow at a CAGR of 13.03% between 2014 and 2019. Increasing disease burden of infectious diseases and increased funding for healthcare expenditure are the important growth drivers for this market during the forecast period.

Session on Infections and Immunity

Having adequate immunity fights against allergy and infections. Immunity is of two types namely innate and adaptive immunity. Humans immune system produces micro-inflammation against host invading body. Immunogenetics deals with the study of the interrelation of autoimmune disordersinfectious diseases. Based on previous studies on skin infections it has been found that bacteria is cause for hypersensitivity reactions. The effect of the pathogen on host depends upon the virulence factors. Bacteria acts as an antigen to the human immune system and bacterial peptides undergo exocytosis get attached to MHC-II.

vaccines resemble the organism which causes disease and it imbibes the active acquired immunity. It is generally the inactivated form of the organism. BioThrax, Daptaceal, Infranix, Pediarix were the new vaccines. The leading companies in drug production are Thermo Fisher scientific, Biomerieux, Dickinson and company, Bio-Rad. The current research was going on DNA and synthetic vaccines, combination and conjugate vaccine, edible vaccines.

Vaccine Adjuvants are components which potentiate the immune system and accelerate the immune responses to an antigen. It can also be termed as an immunologic adjuvant. These components act to induce, prolong, and enhance antigen-specific immune responses when used in combination with specific vaccine antigens.

In 2014 the vaccine market was 32 billion dollars and it is estimated to increase to 59 dollars by 2020.

Session on Novel Antibiotics

Antibiotics are those which act against the growth of infectious organisms. Antimicrobials, Antibacterials fall under this.Antibacterial may be either Bacteriostat or Bacteriocidal.Bacteriostat is those which inactivates the organism and retards the growth whereas Bactericidal completely kills the organism. Antibiotics which acts on the specific bacterial group were named as narrow spectrum and those which shows activity against two groups i.e positive and negative bacteria are named as broad-spectrum antibiotics.

A survey stated that USD 26,19 MN in 2016 is expected to reach USD 060.77 MN by 2025.
